It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas A. Liming, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Douglas was born on November 19, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he left this world peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 64.
A proud graduate of Milford High School, Douglas devoted his career to the lumber industry, serving as mill manager at White Water Forest Products. His life was a testament to hard work and dedication, not just in his profession but also in the many passions he pursued outside of work.
Douglas had an enduring love for woodworking, delighting in the beauty that could be crafted from timber. An avid reader, he found joy in immersing himself in stories that expanded his horizons. He was also a talented painter, well-known for his serene nature scenes that reflected his deep appreciation for the outdoors. Fishing trips brought him immense pleasure, where he would share stories and laughter with family and friends. His garden flourished under his care, with vegetables as vibrant as his spirit. When he picked up his guitar, his melodies and heartfelt songs brought joy to those around him.
Douglas leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Mary Ann Liming, and his children: Ann Katherine (Curtis) Sparks, Andrew Joseph (Sarah) Liming, William Douglas (Lindsay) Liming, Theresa Marie (Dustin) Smiley, and Clare Frances (Fiancé’ Charles Owens) Liming. He was a cherished grandfather to Charlotte, Norah, Ayden, Nathaniel, Maddison, Gabriel, Noah, Sawyer, Samuel, Savannah, ShyAnn, Vincent, Sophia, and Elijah. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas, James, Richard, and Timothy Liming, and his sister, Mary Liming.
To honor Douglas’s life and legacy, a funeral mass will take place on Friday, December 20, 2024, at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 10:00AM. A visitation will begin at 8:30 AM, at the Evans Funeral Home, Milford. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the memories of a man who touched all of our lives with his warmth, kindness, and creativity.
As we say farewell to Douglas, let us remember him in all his passions—the sound of his guitar, the vibrant colors of his paintings, the laughter during family fishing trips, and the harvest of his beloved garden. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
