E. Louise O'Briant died on Friday, September 13, 2024, at her home in Milford, Ohio, two months shy of her 95th birthday. She was born on November 10, 1929, in Rio Grande, Ohio to the late John Dale and Zella (George) Miller. Louise graduated from Rio Grande High School. She married George M. O'Briant on February 1, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2022.

George and Louise spent the majority of their 63-year marriage on a small farm near Sycamore, Ohio, where she was a fulltime homemaker and mother known for her decorated sugar cookies, homemade bread, sewing and quilting skills, and a large garden which yielded canned goods and pickles. Louise and her family were avid bicyclists and she completed multiple bicycle camping adventures. She also enjoyed reading and was frequent library visitor all her life.

In the 1990s George and Louise began growing produce to sell at the Worthington Farmers Market. Their vendor booth was a fixture at the Saturday market for the next 25 years.

Louise was a past 4-H adviser and member of the Lykens Homemaker Club. She attended church at Baseline United Church of Christ and Sycamore United Methodist Church.

No one remembers why her grandchildren began calling her "Judy," but the name stuck and soon her family and friends adopted that name for her as well.

Louise is survived by four children, Kathy (Patrick) Jackson of Clayton, DE, David (Ann) O'Briant of Huntington, IN, Melinda O'Briant of Milford, OH, and Pat (Carol) O'Briant of Arlington, VA; eight grandchildren, Andi O'Briant (Dave Walsh), Kelly O'Briant, Molly Udom (Atreyo Sengupta), John O'Briant, Colleen O'Briant, Sean Jackson, Michael (Ali) Udom, and Megan O'Briant; three great-grandchildren, Beckham, Ezra, and Lola; and two sisters, Mary Lou (Richard) Tenney of New York, and Carol (Charlie) Huff of Colorado.

In addition to her husband, she was proceeded in death by one sister, Dorthea Thomas, and two brothers, George Miller and John Robert Miller.

A graveside memorial service for Louise "Judy" O'Briant will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, October 25, at Ferncliff Cemetery & Arboretum in Springfield, Ohio
