On June 1, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul as Edward Gabriel Jackson of New Richmond, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 31, 1932, Gabe led a life full of warmth, compassion, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who were lucky enough to know him.
Throughout his life, Gabe embraced his community through his dedication to the Free Masons, Scottish Rite, and Shriners, where he formed lifelong friendships and found joy in serving others. A coach for knothole baseball, Gabe mentored and inspired countless young athletes, instilling in them a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship that they carry to this day.
He cherished travel adventures with his fellow Shriners, relishing in the camaraderie and shared experiences that enriched his life. Gabe also found solace in the simplicity of working in his garage, where he organized his extensive collection of tools and readily assisted friends with their automotive needs.
Above all, Gabe's greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved family, particularly his devoted spouse, Loretta Jackson. Together, they created cherished memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.
Gabe is survived by his wife Loretta Hale Jackson, his children, Mike Jackson and Lisa (Mike) Grever, grandchildren, Ryan Jackson, Erin (Jeremy) Veatch, Tara Jackson, Natalie (Rob) Travis and Cole Grever, great-grandchildren, Harper Veatch, Kennedy Veatch, Logan Veatch and Beau Travis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jackson and Margaret Baker Jackson, and brothers Virgil Jackson and Ray Jackson.
As we bid farewell to Gabe, we carry with us the lessons of kindness, friendship, and dedication that he so effortlessly embodied. May his legacy continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
