Edward Andrew Schmid

Schmid, Edward A., devoted husband of 41 years to Kathryn M. "Katy" Schmid, loving father of Kelly (Ryan) Sheldon, Thomas (Jessica) Schmid, and doting grandfather of 5, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31, age 59, in Batavia, OH. The youngest of 7, "Eddie" is also survived and will be greatly missed by his brothers Joe, Bill (Janel), and Jim, sisters Judy (Billy), Cathy (Bob), and Lucy, nieces, nephews, his mother Mary Carolyn Schmid (neé Kopp), and was preceded in death by his father Herman Joseph Schmid.

A fan of peace and nature, Ed truly enjoyed 'spots with a view' and loved swapping stories while bringing constant kindness and joy as a friend to all who met him.

A service celebrating Ed's life will be held in his honor at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Visitation will take place from 4PM to 6PM. The immediate family has chosen cremation with ashes to be scattered privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to worthy nature organizations or parks.
