Edward Joseph Schreiber

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Joseph Schreiber, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on February 18, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 10, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Edward lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication.

Edward was a devoted husband to his beloved spouse, Barbara, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with joy, companionship, and unwavering support for one another. As a father, Edward exemplified kindness and wisdom, always nurturing his family with warmth and good humor. He also leaves behind his dear sister Margaret Link.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Edward served our country. He carried the values of service and commitment throughout his life, which shone through in all his endeavors.

Edward was a passionate member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir for many years, filling the hearts of his community with beautiful melodies. He was also a past member of the St. Andrew Holy Name Society, where he formed lasting friendships with fellow parishioners. His infectious sense of humor and friendly nature made him a cherished friend to all who knew him.

A proud alumnus of St. Xavier High School, Edward graduated in 1956 and went on to dedicate 31 years of service at the Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company, retiring with a legacy of dedication and hard work. His love for the University of Notre Dame was a defining aspect of his spirit, and he enjoyed sharing this passion with friends and family alike.

In his free time, Edward cherished playing golf and tended to his garden, where he found peace and fulfillment. His organizational skills and attention to detail were evident in both his professional life and personal pursuits.

Edward's kindness, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Edward's life at the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held on February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Let us gather to honor the memory of a remarkable man whose legacy will live on in our hearts forever.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Edward Schreiber, Anna Schreiber, his daughter Kimberly Schreiber and his sisters Anna Louise Baudendistel and Eleanor Grabill, and brothers Carl Schreiber and Richard Everhart.
