Elaine Jane Hargett

HARGETT, ELAINE JANE (nee BRADLEY) – Beloved wife of 63 years to Harold C. Hargett; Devoted mother of the late Harold R. “Randy” Hargett; Gregory (Jennifer) Hargett, and Connie (the late Roger) Smith; Caring grandmother of Genesis (Olivia) Hargett, Bradley Smith, Ali (Bryan) Tyler, and Jackson Hargett; Great grandmother of Gregory, Alexander, Winter, and the late Jacob; Loving daughter of the late Samuel R. “Jack” Bradley and the late Josephine Bradley (nee Carpenter); Dear sister of Linda (Terry) Fritz, Roy “Butch” (Freddie) Bradley, Raymond (Lynn) Bradley, Helen Morgan, and the late John Bradley, the late Robert Bradley, and the late Mary Duncan. Elaine’s absence will be felt by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Michelle Lay who has provided loving care to both Elaine and Harold over the past year.

Elaine was one of eight children. She met her husband Harold as a teenager at the Clermont County Fair. Attending the Fair with their children later became an annual tradition. Elaine’s love for family was a defining characteristic. She cherished her tradition of visiting Shaw Farms each fall with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to laugh and was happiest when she could help others be happy.

Elaine was selfless when it came to caring for those, she loved putting their needs ahead of her own. She was supportive and active in her kids’ activities growing up. A reliable PTA room mother who later became “Mom Hargett” to many DeMolays and Job’s Daughters over the years. In her spare time, she loved reading, growing her famously fragrant peonies, and gardening.

Elaine passed away Monday December 18, 2023, at the age of 81. She grew up in Branch Hill and was a longtime resident of Milford, Ohio. Visitation will be at Evans Funeral Home – Milford, 741 Center Street, Milford, Ohio 45150 on Thursday December 28, 2023, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM followed immediately by Funeral service. Burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Gardens.
