Obituary of Elizabeth Erhardt
February 14, 1937 - February 15, 2025
Milford, Ohio - Elizabeth Ann (Linder) Erhardt, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday February 15, 2025 at SEM Haven in Milford, OH.
Born in 1937 in Sturgis, MI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clarice Linder. She attended Sturgis High School, and graduated Aquinas College, Grand Rapid, MI in 1959, where she met her former husband Peter J. Erhardt (divorced, deceased). They married in 1958, and raised four children in Webster, NY. After her divorce she returned to her hometown in St. Joseph County, MI, and remained in that area until moving to Cincinnati, OH where she spent her final years.
Liz was a committed volunteer throughout her life, primarily working with students with disabilities. Her volunteer work included: The Come-Unity Center in Williamson, NY; The Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) in Fairport, NY; The Pathfinder Center in Centerville, MI; The St. Joseph County Historical Society; The Life Skills Training Center in Sturgis, MI, and The Building Hope Freestore in Centerville, MI. She was recognized for her work in 1992 by The ARC of the United States, and in 1996 by The Council for Exceptional Children.
Liz was a friend to many, a lifelong Democrat, and the proud owner of an RV with which she pursued her dream of traveling the country. She liked to share a story, enjoyed reading and bridge, and had extensive knowledge of classic movies which she was always happy to share.
The sixth of seven children, she is predeceased by siblings Joseph (Sharon) Linder, William Linder, Ellen (Art) Brew, Thomas Linder, and Robert (Virginia) Linder, and by her granddaughter Olivia Erhardt.
She is survived by her brother Stephen Linder, her children Stephen Erhardt, Mark (Joan) Erhardt, Matthew Erhardt, and Ellen (Christopher) Byron, and her grandchildren Joscelyn, Gerard, and Ava Erhardt; Sophia (Peter) Carr; and Adam Byron.
Liz has graciously donated her body to the anatomical gift program at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to further medical education and knowledge. A memorial will be held at a future date.
