Eugene Dale Rathbun

Eugene "Gene" Rathbun, 77, passed April 28, 2021. Beloved husband of Anita Rathbun (nee Butterworth); Loving father of Kimberly Fanning and the late Kenneth Rathbun; Grandfather of Amanda and Ashley Fanning; Dear brother of Juanita (the late louie) Curtis and Bill Rathbun; Uncle of Kathy Rathbun, Rebecca Rathbun, Regina Rathbun, Debbie Murphy, David Curtis and Jimmy Curtis. Also survived by many great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Gene was a bus driver for the Goshen Schools for many years and also was the playground monitor at Marr/Cook Elementary for a few years. He was a Lions Club member in Goshen as well. He attended and was a member of the Goshen UMC from 1997 till 2019. While attending Goshen United Methodist Church he worked with the youth group, was the trustees Chairman and was a member of the United Methodist Men. He also started the Kumbayah campers and Hikers group. The group traveled to campgrounds in other states and attended musical events. Over the years, they also held several camp outs at Stonelick State Park with potluck diners followed by devotions and singing around the campfire. He attended the Butlerville UMC from 2000 until present.
Funeral 6:00 PM Tuesday May 4th with visitation starting at 5:00 PM. All at the Goshen United Methodist Church 6710 Goshen Rd.,Goshen Ohio.
