Eugene "Skip" Songer

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Eugene Lyle "Skip" Songer, who left this world peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 76. Skip was born in Glendale, OH, to the late Truman and Helen (nee Fitzpatrick) Songer. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

Skip was a devoted family man; his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he derived immeasurable happiness from their laughter and love. Skip's heart was as large as his spirit was spunky; he was a man who lived to serve others and exemplified what it truly meant to be a man of God.

In addition to his familial devotion, Skip was an esteemed member of the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #29, where he found camaraderie and fellowship. His love for the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds reflected his dedication to his hometown, and he was known to share his passion for sports with friends and family alike.

Skip's legacy is one of generosity and compassion, always seeking ways to lend a helping hand. His heart of gold and his infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Skip is survived by his wife June Songer; Loving father of Rob Harrison, Gina Valerius, and Billy Kelch; Cherished papa of Baylee, R.J., Austin, and Eily; Dear brother of Delmar Harrison, George Songer, and Karen Harrison.

Along with his parents, Skip is preceded in death by his siblings Ray Songer, Richard Harrison, and Darlene Edwards.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church - Loveland, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Skip's life will begin at 12:00 PM. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life will be held at the church for all who wish to come together in Skip's memory.

Memorial donations can be made in Skip's honor to the American Heart Association.
