Eunice Louise Heath, a devoted home missionary and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on October 21, 1934, in Garrett, Kentucky, Eunice's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, compassion, and service to others.
From a young age, Eunice felt the call of God on her heart, a calling that led her to a life dedicated to ministry and helping those in need. She spent more than 37 years as a home missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Tennessee State Baptist and Bradley Baptist Association in Cleveland. Her journey began in Somerset, Kentucky, where she grew up until she was 10. At the young age of 16, she felt the call of God in her life which eventually took her to Chattanooga, where she served faithfully for 24 years, before moving on to Cleveland to continue her noble work.
Eunice's commitment to education was evident in her studies at the Carver School of Missions and Social Work, which is affiliated with the Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. She was not only a passionate teacher of the Word, having taught Sunday School and driven the church bus, but she was also known for her good sense of humor and love for photography, ceramics, and crochet. A sports enthusiast, Eunice delighted in watching football and baseball, always cheering on her favorite teams.
Her impact extended beyond her missionary work; Eunice truly loved working with children and helping families in her church and community. She cherished her family deeply and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will carry her spirit forward.
