Evelyn C. Saffin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Clare Saffin, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on March 3, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on April 8, 1930, to the late John and Katherine (nee Kalus) Hanko.

Evelyn was the beloved wife of 69 years to the late Charles W. Saffin; Loving mother of Richard (Jo) Saffin and the late Cheryl (Jerry) Schneider; Cherished grandma to Dr. Croix (Cedar) Salina, Mark (Suzanna Bachman) Schneider, Robert (Lauren) Saffin, and Jeff (Kseniya) Schneider; Dear great-grandma of Ryan Saffin, Drew Saffin, Alexander Schneider, and Sophia Schneider.

Evelyn was a beacon of love and light to all who knew her. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she cherished her family above all else, creating lasting memories through joyful golfing outings, beloved boating trips, and sunny adventures in Florida during the winter months. Each spring break, her family would gather in the warmth of Florida to share love and laughter, enriching the bonds that made her life so vibrant.

Evelyn was known for her sharp wit, intelligence, and her caring spirit. With an infectious personality and immense heart, she brought joy to everyone around her. Her passions included baking and sewing, skills she used to create moments of comfort and warmth for her loved ones. A devoted Catholic, Evelyn found solace and community in her faith as a long-time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where she attended services for the last 25 years.

Evelyn's life will be celebrated through a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew Catholic Church on March 10, 2025, at 11:00 am. Prior to the mass, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
