Gail Lynn Inabnitt, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on March 3, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gail was known for her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Gail's life was a testament to love and generosity. She was a devoted wife to her husband of over 50 years, Donald Inabnitt, and a nurturing mother to her two daughters, Angie (John) Ashcraft and Amy (Matt) Smallwood. As "Grandma Gail," she cherished her grandchildren-Brooke (Josh) Creekmore, Dylan Ashcraft, Makenna Smallwood, Andrew Smallwood, and Jacob Smallwood-always prioritizing their activities over her own. Her presence at every event highlighted her passion for being involved in their lives, and her cooking brought warmth and joy into the hearts and homes of all who knew her.
A pivotal moment in Gail's life was the day she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior during a church tent revival, a decision that brought her immense joy and peace. This experience strengthened her faith and deepened her commitment to caring for others. Gail had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel cherished, always stopping what she was doing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear.
Gail is survived by her husband Donald Inabnitt, daughters, Angie (John) Ashcraft and Amy (Matt) Smallwood, grandchildren, Brooke (Josh) Creekmore, Dylan Ashcraft, Makenna Smallwood, Andrew Smallwood, and Jacob Smallwood, her sister, Pat Whitaker, and brothers; Ricky Whitaker and Les Whitaker. She is preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Martha Whitaker, sister, Kathy Whitaker and brother Bobby Whitaker.
The family invites all those who knew and loved Gail to celebrate her life. Funeral services will be held at Evans Funeral Home in Goshen, on April 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation beginning at 12:30 PM, allowing friends and family to gather in reminiscence and support.
In honoring Gail's legacy, let us remember the warmth of her smile, her boundless love for her family, and her unwavering spirit of caring. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and commitment, and she will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
