Garry J. Wood

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Garry Joseph Wood on January 21, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on January 20, 1954, to the late Holbert and Mary Catherine (nee Kiger) Wood, in Covington, KY.

Garry was a true outdoorsman at heart. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was hiking through the woods, fishing or tending to his garden, where he nurtured not just plants, but also memories. His laid-back demeanor and caring nature made him a steady presence in the lives of his family and friends.

Known for his insightful discussions, Garry loved talking politics and sharing his unique perspectives. He was also a passionate gamer, spending over 20 years immersed in the world of Lord of the Rings Online, where he not only enjoyed the game but also forged lasting friendships along the way.

Garry leaves behind his loving children Jason Wood, Jeremy Wood, Lisa (Stephen) Tasch, and Ryan Wood; Loving grandpa of Bekah and Jakob Paytes; Dear brother of Dave Wood and Cindy Williams; Uncle of Brad Williams and Shannon Williams. Garry is also survived by his ex-wife and dear friend Colette Zureick.

Along with his parents, Garry is preceded in death by his brothers Jeff Wood and Steve Wood.

Friends and family will gather to honor Garry's life on February 5, 2025. A visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Milford from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service to celebrate his life at 6:00 PM.
