Gary Grassan, age 80, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Mason, Ohio. Born on April 29, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, Gary was the youngest of five children and lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a spirited pursuit of his passions.

Gary graduated from high school in Beavercreek, Ohio, before continuing his education at Bowling Green State University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He later earned a master's degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career as a sales representative for companies specializing in piping systems. His work took him across many states throughout his life, reflecting both his professional commitment and adventurous spirit.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Gary was a Private First Class and served one year stateside in 1967 before being deployed to Vietnam for one year and five months. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1970. His time in the military was a significant chapter of his life and exemplified his sense of duty and resilience.

Gary had a deep love for Corvettes and tractors, interests that reflected both his appreciation for craftsmanship and his enjoyment of hands-on hobbies. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golf, tennis, and racquetball. He also had a life-long passion for following the stock market. These pastimes brought him joy and camaraderie throughout the years.

He was a very loving son, brother, and uncle who remained deeply connected to his family. Gary was especially helpful to his parents during their lives and maintained close ties with those around him. He is survived by his sister Emma Grassan Jost; eight nieces and nephews; and thirteen grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Grassan, and siblings George Grassan, Mary Lou Benson, and Earl Grassan.
