George Kinslow, a beloved educator and accomplished woodworker, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on June 20, 1934, in Glasgow, Kentucky, he dedicated his life to the service of others. George served his country with honor in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Colonel after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
With a Master's Degree in education, George passionately spent three decades shaping young minds as a high school industrial arts educator. Students and colleagues alike were deeply touched by his wisdom, kindness, and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, he was an avid woodworker and outdoor photographer. George cherished family vacations, devoting time to create lasting memories with his loved ones. He enjoyed bantering and playing practical jokes with family.
George loved making caramel corn with his father-in-law to share with friends and relatives around the holidays.
He found solace in attending church and following his favorite sports teams, the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, University of Kentucky and Ohio State. Enthusiastic about staying active, he enjoyed playing tennis and devoting time to his backyard gardening.
George participated in soapbox derbies with his sons, Doug and Ken, fostering unforgettable bonds and shared experiences with them.
George is preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn Kinslow. He is survived by his sons; Doug (Carrie) Kinslow and Ken (Sandi) Kinslow, four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of George's life will be held on August 3, 2024, with a visitation at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5767 Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Rd, Milford, OH 45150, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
George Kinslow's legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for his warmth and generosity.
