Gerhard "Gary" W Gasnik, a machinist from Cincinnati, OH, who loved nothing more than hunting, fishing, and caring for his family, passed away on November 7, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Born on September 15, 1939, in New Brandenburg, Germany, he immigrated to the United States at just 17 years old.
Preceded in death by his parents Rudulf and Marta (nee Kowalewski) Gasnik, brothers Gunther & Eckard and sister Eraine. Gary is survived by brother Dieter; Beverly (nee Balsley) his wife of 56 years; children - Kristina, Gary and Bill Gasnik, Monika (George Brewer) and Roland Gasnik. Grandchildren - Jacob (Danelle Pigman) and Connor Haines, George Jr and Kayla Brewer, Kristina Long and Elizabeth Holcombe. Great grandchildren Kinsley, Carter and Carson, sisters-in-law Delores (late James) Haney, Karly (Maynard) Holcombe, cherished friends Linda & Angie Haines, David Felts and Mike Ward as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Gary's dedication to his family was unwavering, always putting their needs before his own. A faithful caregiver to his beloved wife, he was a pillar of strength and love. Additionally, his passion for hunting and fishing brought joy and fulfillment to his life, creating countless cherished memories in the great outdoors.
A Funeral Service to honor Gary's life will be held at Evans Funeral Home Milford on November 16, 2024, at 12:30 pm, with a Visitation prior at 11:00 am. Friends and family will come together to celebrate the life of this remarkable man and bid him a fond farewell, remembering the laughter, love, and joy he brought to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati, the American Cancer Society or the Ruth Lyons Children's Christmas Fund.
