Gladys Marie Mofford

Gladys Marie Mofford of Hamersville, Ohio, peacefully passed away from natural causes on March 17, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on April 15, 1929, in Mishawaka, IN she lived a vibrant life filled with love, family, and service to others. Gladys was a devoted mother and grandmother, deeply cherished by her children: Brenda (Gary) Ullery, Lori (Joe) Martino, William Dee (Lisa) Mofford, and Robert Glen Mofford. She took immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren—Robert G. Mofford Jr, Scot A. Mofford, Robert S. (Talena) Ullery, Christina (Chris) Henni, Valerie M. Mofford, Joshua E. Mofford, Dylan M. Mofford, Hannah D. (Anthony) Guethlein, and Karen Mofford—as well as her eight great-grandchildren, and sisters Karen Simmons and Phyllis Leone. Her warm heart and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Throughout her life, Gladys was known for her creative passions, including cross stitch and her love for travel. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life, often found engrossed in novels or skillfully working through crossword puzzles. One of her most beloved traditions was preparing unforgettable Christmas dinners, which brought family together in joyous celebration. Above all, Gladys had a profound commitment to helping others; her selflessness and generosity were a guiding light to those in her community and beyond. A graveside service celebrating her remarkable life will be held on March 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to gather as they reflect on the cherished memories and the enduring legacy of Gladys. As we say goodbye, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts—a testament to a life beautifully lived and a love that will never fade. Gladys was preceded in death by: husband William Robert Mofford, parents William & Margaret Rice, sisters Mildred Yarnall, Virginia Humphrey, and grandson Scot A. Mofford.
