Born on November 28, 1936 in Hamilton, Ohio to Ellsworth and Martha Dailey, Gloria eagerly attended Ross Elementary and Ross Middle School. She could often be seen at a young age accompanying her devoted father on sales calls for his flourishing furnace business and played a pivotal role in helping to raise her siblings. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1954.
She began her lengthy career in nursing training at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati where she would meet the love of her life, USAF pilot John T. Clark. The couple married on December 7, 1957. The two moved to Homestead, Florida to begin their life together.
Gloria touched the lives of countless patients and peers over her forty-plus year career in nursing. Guided by the skills she honed in school, her desire to help and care for others enriched the health and well being of so many for decades.
Known for never forgetting birthdays of those she held close to her heart and her endless pursuit of a spotless house, she was a fantastic cook and a gracious host. She was privileged to travel throughout the country and abroad with family and friends. She greatly enjoyed tending to the flowers in her garden and painting in her spare time.
Gloria had a passion and curiosity for nature and a boundless love for animals. She served as an affectionate, canine caregiver to Patches, Max, Sniffy and Sergei and gave an abundance of love to her feline friends Spicey, Daisy, Sandy, Willow, Coco, Pudding Tom, Moonbeam, Bosco, Tigger and Nibby.
Private visitation will take place Wednesday, December 9th at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford. Due to Covid restrictions, no public service will be held. The family wishes to express its most heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Cincinnati Hospice for her care and dignity in her final days.
