It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hansel D. Kimberlin Sr., who departed this life peacefully on February 1, 2026, just two days shy of his 79th birthday. Born on February 3, 1947, to the late Clarence and Ulma Kimberlin, in Bonny Blue, Virginia. Hansel lived a life full of creativity, hard work, and deep generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Hansel served honorably from March 27, 1967, until his discharge on October 28, 1969, achieving the rank of Sergeant. His patriotism was matched only by his kindness, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Hansel had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and boating in his free time. His mechanical talents were evident in his love for working on vehicles and participating in building and racing racecars during his younger years. A true jack of all trades, Hansel never shied away from a challenge-his heart as strong as his hands.
Hansel leaves behind the love of his life, his wife, Carolyn Kimberlin (née Greene), with whom he shared 58 wonderful years; Loving dad to Melissa (Richie) Hollifield, Hansel (Angela) Kimberlin Jr., and Bryan (Brittany) Kimberlin; Cherished papaw to Jasmine Hollifield, Jordyn Hollifield, Calynn Kimberlin, Josh Kimberlin, Bryan Kimberlin Jr., and Caden Kimberlin; Dear brother of Roger Kimberlin. Hansel is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Along with his parents, Hansel is preceded in death by his siblings Elizabeth, Edith, Doris, Brenda, Charles, Bud, RC, and Benny.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home in Milford. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, honoring Hansel's extraordinary life and his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and country. He will be laid to rest at Laurel Memorial Gardens.
