Harriet Maxine Hosey

Harriet Keyes Hosey, 92, a long-time resident at Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015. She was born in Scioto County, Ohio, September 3, 1922, and was the third of nine children of Ulric C. and Grace Watts Keyes, both of whom precede her in death.
Mrs. Hosey moved from Portsmouth to Cincinnati in 1953 where she worked for many years as an accounting specialist and administrative assistant. She retired in 1984 and moved to OVM in 2000 to recover from a serious illness.
At OVM she was active in a number of residential activities and events and loved to play her keyboard and sing. She attended the Sardinia United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hosey is survived by a son, Richard Terry Hosey and wife Trudy of Arizona; a granddaughter, Kimberly Hosey Portell (Jerry) of Arizona; a sister, Remona Keyes Carter of Columbus; and five brothers: Richard (Thelma) of Lehigh Acres, Fl., Arlie Ben of Milford, O., Dennie C. (Marge) of Sardinia, O., Phillip of LaBelle, Fl., and Roger (Lula) of Orlando, Fl. There are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also preceding her in death are a daughter, a brother and sister, three sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law.
The Evans Funeral Home of Milford is in charge of service arrangements and will have a Celebration of Life for Mrs. Hosey on Friday, April 17, at the Sardinia United Methodist Church with visitation at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service conducted by Pastor Jaime Wirth. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens in Wheelersburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Sardinia United Methodist Church or Hospice of Hope in Mt. Orab, Ohio.
