Harry Charles Auel Jr

Harry "Chuck" Auel Jr., 75, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026.

Born on October 5, 1950, Harry believed life was meant to be lived to the fullest. He balanced hard work with a genuine appreciation for life's simple pleasures, always making time for a good meal, his favorite drink, and a shared laugh with those around him. Harry had a sharp wit and quick sense of humor, often ready with a one-liner or a story that could fill a room with laughter-and occasionally raise an eyebrow. Stubborn when he wanted to be and never one to back down from an opinion, he lived life on his own terms, a quality that made him both unforgettable and deeply loved.

Harry proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, where he worked as a cook, sparking a lifelong love of preparing great meals. Following his military service, he attended Cincinnati State Technical College studying printing and went on to dedicate his entire career to the flexographic printing industry. Renowned for his expertise in flexography and his exceptional eye for color, Harry took immense pride in his craft.

Harry believed in leading by example-never asking anyone to complete a job he wasn't willing to do himself. He wasn't afraid to roll up his sleeves to help lighten the workload, treated his team like family, and freely shared his knowledge, always ready to teach and help others grow. His dedication to both his work and the people around him left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him.

Away from work, Harry enjoyed golfing, traveling, and bringing loved ones together around the table. Whether trying a new recipe, sharing a drink with friends, or telling stories that improved a little more with each retelling, he had a remarkable ability to turn ordinary moments into lasting memories.

Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry Charles Auel Sr., and his beloved daughter, Kristen Auel.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Xiaoying Auel; his mother, Delma Auel; his daughter, Leann (Brandon) McGannon; his cherished grandchildren, Harrison and Maylin McGannon, affectionately known to him as his "boneheads"; his sisters, Vicky (Dave) Mezack, Sheryl (Jim) Howard, and Mary (Harold) Gregory; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Harry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, passionately stubborn personality, mischievous humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. His stories will continue to be shared, his laughter echoed, and his presence deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Harry's life on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center Street, Milford, Ohio 45150.
