Ivan Dale Miller

Ivan Dale Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on December 19, 1932, in Connersville, Indiana, Ivan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories in Milford, Ohio.

Ivan was a man of many talents and passions. He proudly served his country in the Navy from 1952 to 1956, where he not only enlisted but also played baseball on behalf of the service. His skills on the field were top-notch, and he nearly captured the attention of the Cincinnati Reds-a testament to his athletic prowess. After his time at sea, he transitioned to a rewarding 42-year career at GE Aviation, with a notable stint at the Pentagon, where he made lasting contributions to the industry.

Married for 64 wonderful years to his devoted wife, Landa, Ivan was an anchor to his five children: Robert, Ronald, Steven (Kristie), Andrew (Lindsay), and daughter Sally. He was more than just a father; he was a source of unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement. His interactions were warm and jovial-there was never a stranger for Ivan; just friends he hadn't met yet. Known for his infectious smile and kind-hearted spirit, he endeared himself to everyone he encountered.

A naturalist at heart, Ivan had a deep love for painting, bird watching, and animal observation, finding joy in the simple beauty of nature. He also had a sweet tooth-a love for doughnuts that was both delightful and endearing, often shared with those he loved.

Ivan is survived by his beloved wife, Landa, his children, grandchildren: Amber, Raven, Kierra, Jonathon, Max, Ben, Shayna, Alexis and Amani, great grandchildren: Connor, Murphy, Vanessa, Valerie, Dexter, L.J., and Avery and his two brothers, Jerry and Marshall Miller. Each of them carries forward the legacy of kindness, humor, and love that Ivan bestowed so generously throughout his life.

In honor of Ivan's life, a celebration of his journey and all that he cherished will be held on 4 - 6 PM Monday February 10, 2025 at John H. Evans Funeral Home 741 Center St. Masonic service and military honors at 5 PM. Milford, OH. Friends and family are invited to join us for a moment of remembrance, sharing stories, and enjoying each other's company-much like Ivan would have wanted.

As we remember Ivan Miller, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever live within us, reminding us to laugh often, appreciate nature's beauty, and, of course, never turn down a doughnut.

Ivan was preceded in death by parents Clem Miller Sr. & Anna Mildred Miller, daughter Teresa Miller, son Gregory Miller, sister Delores Boulware and brother Clem Miller Jr.
