James W. Ballard

James W. Ballard, age 82 of Blanchester died May 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 21, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Martin and Delzia Babb Ballard. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Staff Sgt. during the Korean Conflict and retired after 25 years of service as a machinist at General Electric in Evendale. On October 6, 1953 he married Joan Mabley Ballard, who survives along with his sons, John Michael, Kenneth Russell, Donald Martin and the late James W. Ballard Jr., grandchildren; John Michael Jr. Billie Michelle, Rebecca Lin, Carrie Danielle and Brandon Seth, 12 great grandchildren, a sister; Dola Yeary, many nieces and nephews and preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jane Leuchrmann and brother Martin Ballard Jr. Services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 26th at the Evans Funeral Home 1944 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, Ohio 45122 with visitation from 12:00 until the time of service on Thursday. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery in Harlan Township. Pastor Bill Webb will officiate.
