James Ballinger

April 8, 1948 — December 19, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Ballinger, who left this world peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on April 8, 1948, James will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and a true craftsman of his trade.

For over 30 years, James owned and operated Milford Auto Service, where his passion for fixing cars was more than just a job-it was a lifelong love. There wasn't a problem he couldn't repair, and he always did it with a smile, providing service that went above and beyond for his loyal customers. He was a man whose hands were calloused, but his heart was warm.

James was not only dedicated to his work, but he also cherished his relationship with the Lord. His love for music found a special place in his life as he played guitar at his beloved church, sharing his talent and faith with the community. There was nothing he enjoyed more than gathering with friends and family to share stories and music, creating moments that will surely linger in the hearts of those who knew him.

In his leisure time, James found joy in fishing, often spending quiet days by the water, surrounded by the beauty of nature that he so adored. He was a gentle soul, with a kind word for everyone he met, and his laughter will be sorely missed.

James leaves behind his cherished wife, Gail Ballinger, and their children, Lisa Ballinger, James (Kim) Ballinger Jr. and Dawn Hughett, grandchildren David (Mary) Ballinger, Andy (Ally) Ballinger, Ashley (James Philpot) Ballinger and Daniel Hughett, great grandchildren Damion Philpot, Annabell Ballinger, Lilyana Philpot and Calvin Ballinger and sister Donna (late Mike) Chilton.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of James Ballinger will be held on Monday December 23, 2024, at 1 PM, at Faith Baptist Church 6495 Ohio 132 Goshen, Ohio. Visitation starting at noon. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in honoring his memory, sharing stories, and finding comfort in each other's company.

He may have departed from this earthly realm, but the impact of his life, love, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.

James was preceded in death by his parents James & Addie Naylor Ballinger and brother-in-law Mike Chilton
