James Wess Brandt

James "Jim" Brandt, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away June 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie Brandt. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marsha Brandt, his children; Robin (Bill) Cayton, Melissa (Thomas) Garcia, his grandchildren; Jeffery Cayton, Helena Garcia and Evan Garcia, his siblings; Jerry (Janet) Brandt. Judy Brandt and Jay Brandt. His unexpected death is a great loss to all who knew him. Jim was an amazing family man. He loved his grandchildren and they sure adored him. He never missed an opportunity to teach them a lesson on how to fix something or just about life in general. Jim was a "Mr. Fix-it" to everyone who knew him. If anyone could fix it, he could. Everyone who knew him knew that he was dependable and hardworking. He took great care of everything he owned and he taught the same to his children and grandchildren. He treasured family time together and was the first one up on Christmas morning fixing everyone breakfast. He was witty, funny, and definitely knowledgeable. If you needed to know a random fact, he would know it. He was a United States Air Force veteran, an aircraft mechanic for 50 plus years, a newspaper carrier for seventeen years, and a jack of all trades when it came to woodworking and home repair. Jim was an amazing role model and buddy to his eleven year old grandson and they built many projects together. He never missed a soccer game or any school event for his kids or grandkids. He was truly a pillar of his family and his presence will be missed every single day and every single minute.


The family will receive friends and family Thursday July 1, 2021 with the visitation from 10:00am - 11am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am at Evans Funeral Home 741 Center Street Milford, OH 45150. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
