With great sadness, the family of James Melvin Hunter, from Springfield, Ohio, announces his passing on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the age of 70. He was born on July 21, 1948 to parents Clifford Harold Hunter and Velma Opal (Ours) Hunter. As the son of farmers, he loved working in nature and being around animals. He especially enjoyed driving his father's tractor.
James attended Greenon High School and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1970 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Agriculture. Early in his career, as district manager, he was instrumental in the expansion of Bob Evans Restaurants. He liked nursing plants and passionately followed his favorite team, the Cincinnati Reds.
James will be lovingly remembered by his children Angela Hunter, Kristi (Dante) Harlan, James D. Hunter, Jason (Linda) Hunter, Jarad Hunter and Marjorie (Michael) Sick. James will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren Kiley Hunter, Jayden Harlan, Cooper Sick, Jorden Harlan and Delaney Sick.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Glen Haven Memorial Garden's Chapel, 8200 West National Road, New Carlisle, OH at 10:30 am. A celebration of his life will follow at 11:30 am.
