James "Jim" Linn

September 2, 1934 — February 27, 2025

James R. Linn, beloved husband to the late Norma Jean (Knisley), a father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on September 2, 1934, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Jim, as he was affectionately known, dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his community.  Jim graduated from high school and developed a successful career as an engineer in the machinist industry. His work was distinguished by his dedication and expertise, qualities that earned him the respect of his peers. Yet, it was his service to others that truly defined him. A devoted member of the Milford Lodge #54 F & AM and Amelia Chapter #338 OES, he contributed to his community with a passion for helping others. As a Deacon at Parkside Christian Church, he played a vital role in the church's outreach programs, including the food pantry, where he worked tirelessly to ensure those in need were cared for.  In addition to his community work, Jim was a cherished member of the Milford Amateur Radio Club, where he not only shared his love for amateur radio but also taught classes to others. His participation in Frontier Days showcased his commitment to preparedness. He took the lead in mock disasters, providing vital communication assistance during times of need, ensuring that safety was always a priority.

Jim's zest for life extended beyond his community service. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing tennis, racquetball, baseball, and go-kart racing. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and family, reflecting the importance he placed on relationships throughout his life.  James is survived by his daughters, Denise (Rev. Ed) Coy and Cheryl (Don) Bosse, and his son, James B. (Roxanne) Linn. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren Shawna (Eddie), Brandon, Benjamin (Stephanie), Gretchen (Tyler), Gregory, Caprice (Derek) and Courtney, as well as his great-grandchildren Tanner (Sydney) Kenndey, Madison, Dylon, Serenity, Raven, Dominik, Piper, Lyric, Alex, Emersyn and Elias, great-great grandchildren Keanon, and Hadlee. Family was everything to Jim, and he took great pride in the close-knit bond he nurtured with each member.  A masonic and eastern star memorial service honoring Jim's life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:30 AM. Following this, a funeral service will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Milford at 12:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Allowing friends and family to come together to reflect on his remarkable journey
