James Joseph Noonan Sr., passed away on January 28, 2025, just one day shy of his 86th birthday. Jim was born on January 29, 1939, to Joseph and Mildred (nee Johnston) Noonan in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jim attended Purcell High School. After high school Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 18, 1958, and served his country until April 17, 1963. Jim carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life. He often recounted stories of his time abroad, blending the nostalgia of his past with the joy of his present.
Professionally Jim worked for Fischer Body and was a Realtor prior to finding his passion, Information Technology. Jim worked as an IT educator for Cincom Systems for most of his career and then joined Oracle until the time of retirement.
A true lover of life, Jim was known for his adventurous spirit. He cherished the experience of dining at fine restaurants, traveling to new places, and especially enjoyed flying. His heart had a soft spot for the state of Texas, where he created lasting memories. In quieter moments, he filled his time tracking flights, always with an eye turned toward the sky and a spirit eager for the next adventure.
Jim leaves behind his cherished family: his son, James (Sherri) Noonan Jr.; son, Mark Noonan; son, Anthony (Laurie) Noonan: and special friend Shiela Jones and Tiffany Noonan. Each of them carries forward his legacy of kindness, curiosity, and passion for life. Also survived by grandchildren: Brett Jr., Connie, Amber, Kelsey, Samantha, James, Ashley, Nicklaus, and Hanna. Great grandchildren: Dylan, Dakota, Howie, Raven, Camryn, and Freya (who is on the way). Siblings Jack, JoAnn, Diane, Monica, Danny, Ellen and many Nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by wife Janet Noonan (nee Lawson), parents Joseph and Mildred (nee Johnston) Noonan son, Brett Noonan and Sister Susan.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jim's life. Visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home 1944 Ohio 28 Goshen, Ohio on February 4, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on February 5, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton 5890 Buckwheat Road Milford, Ohio at 12:00 PM. Burial with military honors to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
