James Richard Tumbusch

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Richard Tumbusch, a beloved goldsmith, artist, and inquisitive soul. Born on April 24, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, James led a life rich with creativity, profound thoughts, and a love for beauty he manifested in his work.

A skilled jeweler and true artist at heart, James found joy in capturing the essence of the world around him and reflecting it back with unique perspective. With a few strokes, his deft hands breathed life and feeling into a simple sketch. His paintbrush dipped beyond color and technique to express the tenderness and complexities of the human spirit. He crafted stunning pieces of jewelry that showcased not only to the material's beauty, but also those who wore it. Above all, his heart remained forever kind enough to acknowledge and accept a person for who they were and what they offered.

Aside from his artistry, James's thirst for knowledge led him to explore the depths of philosophy and mysteries of religion. His curiosity culminated in his thought-provoking novel, Candidy, in which he navigated the twists and turns of existence, reflecting on the very nature of the universe and the divine.

James is survived by his loving family, including his nephew Thomas N. Tumbusch (Toni), niece Amy Stelmack (Andrew), great nephew Maxwell Asher Stelmack (Rachel), and great niece Alexis Cozette Stelmack. Each of them carries forward a piece of James's spirit, commemorating his humor, wisdom, and boundless love.

The family will hold a private memorial gathering.

James Richard Tumbusch was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lucille Tumbusch, along with his brother Thomas E. Tumbusch. May James's legacy forever inspire and resonate within us.
