Obituary

In Loving Memory

James Willard Zachary, age 79, of Newtonsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026.

James spent most of his life in Newtonsville and was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work. For many years, he worked alongside his wife in their painting company, leaving behind the results of his craftsmanship in countless homes and projects throughout the years.

Outside of work, one of his greatest joys was his beloved 1955 Chevy, a car that held a special place in his heart and reflected his appreciation for classic automobiles.

More than anything, Jimmy loved his family. He deeply cherished his only daughter, Jamie, and took great pride in his four grandsons: Zachary, Larry, Corey, and Christian, as well as his several great-grandchildren. They brought tremendous happiness to his life, and the memories they shared with him will be treasured forever.

He is also survived by his siblings, Bob Zachary and Shirley Crawford, along with several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Arthur and Dortha Mae Zachary; his siblings, Doris Jean Valdez and Mary Ruth Richardson; and his beloved wife, Shelia, whose loss remained close to his heart. Their love and the life they built together were an important part of who he was.

Jimmy will be remembered as a hardworking man, a loving husband and father, a proud grandfather, and someone who appreciated the simple things that made life meaningful. His family will carry with them the stories, lessons, laughter, and memories of a life well lived.

Services to honor James will take place on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home in Milford (741 Center Street). Visitation will begin at 12pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm. Interment at Graceland Memorial Gardens.

Though he will be deeply missed, those who loved him find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved Shelia.
