Janet Lynn Howell (Rineair), 68 of Milford Ohio, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, May 11, 2026 after a courageous nearly three year journey with cancer. Throughout her battle, Janet exemplified grace, strength and positivity that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born on the July 23, 1957 in Cincinnati OH, Janet was the daughter of Clyde and Anna Rineair.

Janet was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother,
dear friend whose quiet strength and compassionate heart touched everyone around her.
She devoted many years to caring for her family as a homemaker before later working for Lehr's Meats. Janet eventually retired from the Milford Exempted Village School District after 25 years as an elementary teacher's aide, where she became known for her kindness, patience, and dedication to her students.

Janet shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with her high school sweetheart and husband, Stephen Howell, who lovingly referred to her as "My Sweet." Especially during these last few years, Stephen devoted himself to caring for and doting on her. Together they built a life centered around love, loyalty, and family, which remained the foundation of their enduring legacy.

Their greatest pride and accomplishment was raising their two daughters, and watching their family grow through the lives of their five beloved grandchildren who lovingly knew Janet as "Ma" or "Nana."

Janet expressed her love not through grand gestures, but through delicious meals shared around the table. She spent countless hours planting and tending to the flowers she cherished so dearly, spending hours building puzzles, and taking motorcycle rides and memorable trips with Steve and their closest friends.

Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Howell; her daughters, Amy Howell Cipolla and Stacy Howell (T.J. Mason); her beloved grandchildren Kyleigh, Tyler, Hailey, Natalie , and Thomas. She also leaves behind her 92 year old mother Anna (Rineair) Weatherford. Sisters Jackie Weatherford (Gilbert), Julie (Greg) Mihalovich who she loves. Her dear brothers and sisters in law Michael (Donna) Howell, Douglas (Rhonda) Howell, Bonnie (Walter) Stewart, Michelle (Rick) Wallace, Laura Howell and many cherished nieces & nephews.

Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and quiet strength will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center Street, Milford OH 45150.

As a meaningful way to honor Janet, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati in gratitude for the compassion and care graciously provided. Their kindness and gentle presence brought comfort not only to Janet, but to her entire family as well.
