Janet Elizabeth Rhein (nee Kruse), passed away on January 16, 2020 at the age of 99. She was born and raised during the depression, although her father hid it from her. Her mother died in childbirth and she was raised by her German grandmother who always used to cuss out her dad in German. She got her driver's license and loved having a job at the Catholic Telegraph during World War II. Afterwards those jobs went back to the men but this was a really happy time for her and something she was proud of. She was an excellent dancer in Mt. Adams and she thought Elvis was a "hillbilly". She saw the invention of the television, and thought uber, Facebook, and WhatsApp were basically magic. She lived for a century. She was always super hip and even had a crush on Barack Obama! She was always there for absolutely everyone. And the only thing she loved more than tomatoes was her family and friends. She was the wife of the late William G. Rhein, devoted mother of Michael (Arnette) Rhein, loving grandmother of Andrea (Andy) Dorko, Kirsten Rhein and Amy (Ryan) Kisner, great-grandmother of Catherine Dorko, Alexander Dorko, Brady Dorko, Joshua Kisner and Jacob Kisner, loving aunt of Tanya Tobalski, Tina Roos, Su Hansbauer and Kathy Cady, also survived by many other loving family members and friends. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Church in Milford, on Thursday, January 23rd at 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in St. Bernard, Ohio. Memorials may be made in her name to Ruth Lyons Children's Fund or St. Jude's Children's Hospital
