Janice Birkle

Janice Loretta Birkle, age 86, of Hillsboro, Ohio (formerly of Norwood, Ohio) passed away peacefully at her home on December 12, 2025, at 12:16 p.m., in her sleep.

Janice was the proud wife of Navy Veteran, Charles R. Birkle. The two were married on January 18, 1956. They had two daughters and lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charles passed away on January 16, 2016, just two days shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Janice spent her final ten years enjoying time with family, her pets, listening to music, doing arts and crafts, and soaking up sunshine on the front porch while eating a popsicle.

Janice will be remembered for her strength and her love of family. She was the glue that brought the family together as well as the rock and support everyone turned to when times got tough. She will be very deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles R. Birkle; parents, Homer and Anna May Seibert; and siblings, Claira Louise, Homer Jr., Mary Louise, Martha, Glen, Edgar, Jerry, Catherine Anne, Lester, Kenny, and Jim.

Janice is survived by her loving daughters, Denise Foster and Vida LaVigne; her grandchildren, Lina Sexton, Joshua Wallace, Dustin Wallace, Kendra Stevens, and Alexis LaVigne; her great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Sexton, Courtlyn Sexton, Kiersten Dillard, Nickolas Dillard, Garrett Dillard, Rowan Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Raven Wallace, Lilly Hicks, Kourtney Hicks, and Kash Stevens; as well as siblings, Art, Jean, Becky, Charlie, Emma, and John.

Visitation Services will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm at John H. Evan's Funeral Home in Milford, OH.
