It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Wayne Welch, a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend, who left us on March 23, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on July 11, 1974, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jason spent most of his life in the Reading area, where he was known for his warmth, kindness, and playful spirit.

Jason is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Wendy Brown. He is also survived by his treasured daughter, Carla Whitaker; his bonus daughters, Patricia Grote, Heather Jones, and Arin Brown; and the daughter he held in his heart, Isabella Marie. He is further survived by his cherished sisters, Angel Welch, Niki Welch, and Tiffany Welch. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nephews, Max Welch and Bryan Jackson; his niece, Ivy Boone; and his great-niece, Ariel Deaton. Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Mollie Smith and Chris Watson, who surely welcomed him with open arms.

A true family man at heart, Jason relished time with his loved ones-family meant everything to him. He took every role he held seriously, even embracing the playful title of "Mojo Jojo" for his girls (Patricia, Carla, and Heather). He had a passion for fishing, poker, and playing Scrabble-and winning. Friends often saw him enjoying a game of cards or pool. Always busy and hands-on, he found great joy in home repairs and projects. Recently, he spent much of his time teaching his "little big nerd," Arin, how to drive. Jason embodied dedication and care in everything he did.

Jason's natural ability to connect with others made him a friend to many. His generous heart and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to honor Jason's life will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Milford (741 Center Street) on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The family invites all who knew Jason to join in celebrating the beautiful life he lived and encourages attendees to wear colors-his favorite was purple.
