JB Bender was born on February 21, 1956, in Mariemont, Ohio, passed away on July 31, 2024 at the age of 68. JB was known fondly as an expert tattoo artist throughout his lifetime and had a deep passion for his craft, evident in all of his intricate artwork. His love for sports, particularly baseball, led him to become a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He shared many joyous moments with fellow enthusiasts.
In addition to loving art and a good ballgame, JB had a special affinity for classic cars. It was a passion he indulged in by completing intricate model car kits and by attending the Pumpkin Run Car Show each year. His admiration for vintage vehicles spoke to his appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless design.
JB's affection extended beyond machines to his beloved animals, including dogs Safa, Rex, Maggie, Lobo and Lucy and African Grey parrot Simon. He cherished their companionship and loyalty, returning it in kind with many treats. A social man who loved connecting with people from all walks of life, JB forged numerous friendships over the years. His warm demeanor and welcoming spirit made him a cherished companion and confidant to many.
JB is survived by his beloved wife Sama Bender; son, Ryan (Wade) Williams-Jent; sisters-in-law Naomi (Bill) Hamm and Fran (Robert) Elam; sister, Polly Harrison; brother, Martin Bender; uncle, Dave (Vickie) Augst; aunts Marsha Gacad and Pam Glover; nieces and nephews, Larry (Kelly) Hamm; Beth (Josh) Dischar, Michelle (Bill) Elam Mann, Daniel "Casey" Elam, Katie Blust, Kylie Hamm, Jessica and Amber Stiles, Danielle and Paisley Elam, Tiffany and Valerie Harrison and many other loved ones, including friends who were like family. He is preceded in death by his parents, John W. Bender Sr. and Evelyn Bender; grandmother, Sara Augst; mother-in-law, Opal Casey McFarland; aunt, Rose Chitwood and brother-in-law, Bobby Harrison.
Family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Friday, August 23rd from 6 PM with a memorial service beginning at 7 PM, allowing friends and family to gather and honor his memory while sharing stories about his time with us. In remembering JB, may we find solace in the joy he brought those who knew him, cherishing the lasting impact of his presence in our lives.
