Jean Jaccod (nee Cohorn), a beloved matriarch and cherished friend to many, will be remembered for her kind heart and nurturing spirit. Born on September 24, 1927, in Owen County, Kentucky, Jean was a ray of sunshine who brightened the lives of all who knew her. She passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026.
Jean was the loving wife of the late Jack Jaccod and is survived by her devoted children: Randy (late Sonnie), Lenny (Judy), Steve (Ann), Melissa, Gary, Lisa (Scott), Penny (late Ed). She leaves behind a legacy through her 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, who all will carry fond memories of her warm laughter and unwavering love. Jean was preceded in death by her twin sister, Jane Lindahl, who she shared a lifelong bond with.
Known affectionately as "The Queen of Tartan Glen," Jean was also the proud President of the Gateway Gals of the Southern Gateway Chorus and a member of the International Champions Sweet Adelines, where her passion for music brought happiness to so many. Jean embraced her role as a homemaker, but above all, family was her whole world.
A graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park on October 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life. Prior to that, a visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Goshen, starting at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in Jean's memory.
As we remember Jean, let us carry forward her spirit of love and kindness, ensuring that her legacy of her devotion to her family and friendship endures in our hearts.
Jean was preceded in death by: Husband of 65 years Jack Jaccod, and parents Ollie & Ruby Cohorn
