Jeffrey W Lanier

Jeffrey “Jeff” W. Lanier passed away suddenly with his wife Cathie and daughter Natalie by his side, on November 14th, 2022, at the age of 78 in Milford, Ohio.

Jeff was born to the late Ward P. and Carol M. Lanier on September 6th, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the brother of the late Dennis Lanier. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Cathie Lanier, and loving children, Natalie (Chris) Lanier, Col. J. Brian (Stacy) Lanier, Tiffany (Mike) Proffitt, Stephen (Corrin) Lanier, Courtney (Diana) Varela, and Jesse Lanier. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Gabrielle (Evan) Proffitt, Owen Proffitt, Blake Shelton, Sophia Lanier, Cole P. Lanier, and dear lifelong friend Roy (Christina) Ellsberry, as well as many cousins, colleagues, and friends.

Jeff was a graduate of Anderson High School and attended classes at the University of Cincinnati. From 1962-1965, Jeff served his country in the United States Navy. Jeff retired in 2020 from the automotive industry after 40+ years, most recently having worked at Joseph Chevrolet on Colerain Ave.

Jeff was an avid lover of the arts and sports alike – from Broadway shows, old movies, vintage cars, and bowling to all things Cincinnati: the Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, UC Bearcats, Music Hall, and the Aronoff. Jeff also loved adventure. He spent his time traveling and sailing, and he loved a good cup of coffee. He was a wiz at crossword puzzles and enjoyed teaching people about his passions.

The Lanier family will be having a Celebration of Life service at Evans Funeral Home on Friday, December 2nd, 2022, at 6 PM with Visitation starting at 5 PM.
