Jimmy Lee Setters, Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jimmy (Jim) Setters Sr. on Thursday May 18th, 2023 at the age of 73.

Jimmy was a simple man born of humble beginnings in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 22, 1949 to Leeorah and Joseph Setters. He had a good childhood growing up with his older brother Joe around Cincinnati specifically Northside where he made many friends. As he became a teenager his mom had his baby sister Rhonda whom he made sure to look after until her passing. Jimmy was drafted by the United States Armed Forces at the age of nineteen and he fought in the Vietnam War. While deployed, Jimmy Jr., his first born son entered the world. After returning from Vietnam, Jim met and married his loving wife Linda Setters with whom he had three children Scott, Dennis and Lauren.

Jimmy was an old school guy who lived by the saying, “Say what you mean and mean what you say!” Jim felt that a handshake was a binding contract and that family was all that matters. He was known by everyone to be hard-working, honest, and loyal. He took great pride in working at UC and loved all of “his guys” that he worked with. Jim loved going to car shows and cruise-ins with his son Dennis and grandson Reece. He loved being a Grandpa and spending time with his grandkids Aaron, Kaitlyn, Jenna, Ethan, Reece, Ellis, Lucas Mallory and Ryan. Jim was always there for them at every important event and showed immense pride and support for all of his grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his son Scott Setters, his mother and father Leeorah and Joseph Setters, his brother Joseph Setters Jr, and his sister Rhonda Leonard. He is survived by his wife Linda Setters, Jimmy Jr./Shelly Setters, Dennis/Amy Setters, Lauren/Daniel Warndorf, Aaron, Kaitlyn, Jenna Setters, Ethan Setters, Reece and Ellis Setters, Lucas, Mallory and Ryan Warndorf.

Funeral services will be held at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, OH Saturday, June 3rd visitation from 6-7, service 7-7:30
