Joel F. Shepard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joel F. Shepard, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left this world on April 21, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on May 3, 1953, in Cairo, Illinois, Joe spent his final years in Milford, Ohio, where he built a life rich in love and family.

Joe was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Kathy, with whom he shared over 50 joyous years. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Katy (John) DeNicola and Shelby (Michael) Ventura. As a grandfather, he embraced the roles of mentor and cheerleader to Luka, Nicholas, Jack, Michael Jr., Blake, and Cole, attending their games and nurturing their passions with joy and enthusiasm. Joe is also survived by his loving mother Edith Bolton.

A man of many hobbies, Joe found solace in his gardens, tended with dedication that reflected his nurturing spirit. Photography allowed him to capture the tender moments of life, turning everyday scenes into beautiful memories that radiated his love for family and nature. He enjoyed playing golf in his younger years, tinkering with his metal detector or flying his drone around the neighborhood.

Loyal and dedicated, Joe's greatest treasure was his family. He instilled the values of hard work and compassion in his children and grandchildren, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and support one another. His warmth and guidance will resonate in the hearts of those he touched.

Funeral services for Joe will be held on April 24, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to honor his life and share stories of the remarkable man he was. Following the service, Joe will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In this time of mourning, let us celebrate Joe's legacy of love, joy, and loyalty. His spirit will forever remain with us, guiding us as we hold each other a little closer and cherish the memories we created together.
