John Daniel Gilkison

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Daniel Gilkison, born on July 31, 1964, in Mairemont, Ohio. John left this world peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Batavia, Ohio. He was 61 years old.

John was a cherished brother, leaving behind his beloved siblings, James (Tanya) Gilkison, Christine (Barry) Caldwell, and Amy Wilson. His generous spirit and contagious laughter touched the lives of many, making him a beloved friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. With a good and gentle heart, John was a true social butterfly, often considered the life of the party. He radiated warmth and kindness, always looking out for those around him, embodying the values of loyalty and love.

An animal lover at heart, John opened his home to furry friends, showcasing the compassion that defined him. Family and Friends were of the utmost importance to John, and he deeply enjoyed spending time with them. His passion for life, coupled with his various talents-strong mechanical, carpentry, and concrete skills-allowed him to leave an indelible mark on those lucky enough to witness his handiwork.

In his youth, John was a gifted athlete, earning recognition as a state runner-up in wrestling in 1983 at Clermont Northeastern where he was also inducted to the schools sport hall of fame. His dedication to sports and fitness underscored his determination and zest for life.
