John Corwin Highfield

John "Jack" Corwin Highfield, 83, died on December 26, 2019. He was born September 5, 1936 to Norris C. and Mona K. Highfield in Zanesville, Ohio.

Jack grew up in Washington Court House, Ohio and graduated from high school in 1955. He joined the Army and served for two years, mainly in Paris, France.

He worked for many years at the Bostwick Braun Company in Toledo, Ohio working his way up to wholesales hardware salesman.

On September 10, 1966, he married Peggy Anne Lininger in Washington Court House. They moved to Perrysburg, Ohio in 1968 and then moved to Milford, Ohio in 1974 when they purchased Milford Hardware. Jack and Peg jointly worked in the store until October 1, 1998 when they retired.

Jack was a member of Milford First United Methodist Church and Royal Oak Country Club, now Stillmeadows County Club.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peg, son John W. Highfield, daughter Emily A. Berchem (Timothy), six grandchildren, Mariah (Jacob Paul), Hannah (Ryan Roach), Abigail, Isabelle, Emma, Eli Berchem and great-grandson Jacob W. Paul, four siblings Robert (Linda), Mary (Philip) Grover, Richard and Edward (late Helen) Highfield, also survived by many nieces and nephews and sister in law Jeanne (late Marvin) Wisecup and family.

Family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Friday January 3rd from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4th at Milford First United Methodist Church beginning at 10 AM. Burial will be held at Washington Cemetery in Washington Court House on Monday, January 6th at 11 AM.
