John Henry "Hank" Wagner (formerly of Union Township, Clermont County) passed away July 24 in Avon Lake, OH. He was born January 17, 1937 in Cincinnati, son to the late John F. and Mae Wagner (nee Johnson.) Hank was the devoted husband to his dear wife of 51 years, the late Patricia A. Wagner (nee McFeena).
Hank is survived by his son Matthew Wagner; son and daughter-in-law, John & Carrie Wagner and grandchildren Jessica Wagner and Mark Wagner. Along with his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wagner. Hank is also survived by his sister Sue Wagner and brothers William Wagner and Robert Wagner.
Hank was a graduate of Roger Bacon High School and afterwards served four years in the U.S. Navy, stationed at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, VA and earning the rank of Petty Officer, Second Class. After leaving the Navy, he earned his Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati. Upon graduation he spent more than 20 years working in management positions in various engineering-related departments at Cincinnati Bell. After retirement he a had a decade-plus "second career" in a sales support role at Comey & Shepherd Realtors. Hank spent many years as an active member of the Milford Kiwanis. And he was a loyal fan of all Cincinnati sports teams, especially his beloved UC Bearcats.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday July 30 St. Andrew Church, 552 Main St. Milford, Ohio 45150, with visitation preceding the service, 8:30 AM at Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St., Milford, OH, 45150.
