John L. Welte, Jr.

John L. Welte, Jr. AKA "JJ", our beloved father, brother, son, son-in-law, nephew, cousin, uncle, significant other, and friend, left our world on December 11, 2022, following prolonged illness.

JJ was born on March 28, 1975, the first child of Marilyn Amanda (Fox) Welte and John L. Welte, Sr.. His only sibling is his brother, James Cameron Welte, Sr.. Frances Welte was privileged to become his nurture mother early in 1979.

JJ loved learning and sports from an early age. He was 6 years old when he read the " Lord of the Rings". From ages 6-16 years he was on the same baseball team, "The Milford Oilers", coached by John Bacca. He also played high school and college baseball. He attended Milford Schools, followed by several years of college at the University of Cincinnati, where he intended to become a physical therapist. He finished his college career at Mt. St. Joseph, majoring in business.

JJ started his business career as a mortgage broker. He found his niche as an IT Sales Manager.

JJ and his partner, Jennifer Chumbley, had one son, Cameron Paul Welte. They lost Jennifer early in 2012. JJ took great comfort in knowing that he left his son financially secure through the remainder of high school and his college career.

During 2012, JJ also lost his mother, Marilynn, his aunt Mary and his grandfather, Richard Stauss. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Jim and Marie Fox and Jim and Betty Welte, and step-grandparents Richard and Jimmie Jane Stauss.

Memorial to be held at Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center Street, Milford, Ohio on Wednesday, 12/21/22. Visitation starts at 6:30 PM; service starts at 7:30 PM PER FAMILY THEY REQUEST THAT MASKS BE WORN FOR HEALTH CONCERNS.

JJ wanted to donate his organs, in the hope of saving others. Had he qualified that would have happened through LifeCenter. He supported a number of charities, in different ways. One that had a great deal of meaning to JJ and Cameron was Fernside. JJ received excellent care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to any of these charities would be deeply appreciated.

JJ is survived by his son, Cameron Paul Welte, his brother, James Cameron Welte, Sr., his parents John (Frances) Welte, and parents-in-law, Paul (Hazel) Chumbley, his aunts and uncles along with cousins, nieces and nephews, and his significant others, Shannon McDowell and family.
