Joseph William Hallgath III was born to Joe Jr and Alta (Randall) on July 27, 1955 in Oakland CA while Joe was serving in the navy. Joe is survived by his wife Jennifer (Marks) and son Joshuah (Ally).
Joe is the oldest of seven siblings. Mark (Carolyn), Bob (Linda), Sandy Toadvine (Glenn), Joyce Lawrence (Jeff), Rod(Elaine) and Ron (Maureen). Joe also had many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Joe also learned he would be a grandpa in November!
Joe worked for many years as a police officer in the village of Bethel. Joe had the ability to work with people at what may be the worst time of their life but to treat them with the respect and dignity they deserve. Joe also worked for several years in security at the college of Mount St. Joseph. Joe was able to relate and communicate with students and staff. Joe had the gift of BS. If you ran into him at Kroger, you know you would be standing there for at least an hour trying to get away!
When Joe was well, he loved to play soccer. Joe went to college in Texas for a year on a soccer scholarship. Joe and his brothers were playing soccer well before it became a popular rec and high school sport.
Joe’s family is taking comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and trapped in a body that failed him.
