Josephine Matilda Eirich

May 6, 1924 — April 2, 2024

Josephine Matilda (Klippert) Eirich, age 99 of Cincinnati, Ohio was called to her heavenly home on April 2, 2024. She was only 33 days shy of 100 years old. She is now blissfully in the presence of Jesus, her precious Lord and Savior and is surrounded by and welcomed home by all of her family and loved ones that have gone before her.

Jo was born May 6, 1924, in Cozad, Nebraska, to John and Martha Klippert. She was the first born of 10 children. Jo spent her early years in Nebraska, and moved with her parents to Sunnyside, WA. in 1944. She lived in Sunnyside for 70 years until December, 2014, when she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to live with her son, Dudley and his family.

She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1944. Jo and Dave Eirich were married on July 14, 1946, after he returned from the military. Their first child was born in 1947, David Joe. Second son, Leon Dudley, was born in1949, and daughter, Jennifer (Jennie) Kaye was born in 1954. A highlight of their 41 years together was a big "35th year Anniversary Celebration."

Jo loved to garden. She would spend hours outside weeding, watering, and harvesting. Then she would come inside and prepare her harvest for freezing and canning. She also worked part-time at Mode O' Day and was active at her church, Calvary Lutheran in Sunnyside. While living in Ohio, Jo attended Rivertree Vineyard Church where her grandson, John, is the senior pastor. Jo was a woman of great faith. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved Jesus and that was evident by how she lived her life and treated people. Jo loved her family, and they all loved her.

Jo is survived by her three children: David Eirich and his wife, Elida of Yakima, WA.; Dudley Eirich and his wife, Patty of Cincinnati, OH.; and Jennie (Eirich) Bishop and her husband, Kenn of Haskell, OK. Seven Grandchildren: Amy (Bob) Opoka of Cincinnati, OH.; John (Ellen) Eirich of Cincinnati, OH.; Ben Eirich of Dry Ridge, KY; Bobby (Alicia) Eirich of Yakima, WA.; Kayla Hill of Yakima, WA.; Nathan (Kara) Bishop of Haskell, OK.; Erich Bishop of Seattle WA. And twelve great grandchildren: Rowan, Bobby, Graeme, Elicia, Katie, Liam, Ryker, Olyvia, Boston, Hosanna, Zechariah, and Obadiah. Jo has one surviving sibling, Stanley (Bobbie) Klippert of Bremerton, WA.

Jo was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Martha Klippert; her husband, Dave, four sisters: Evelyn (Evy) Eirich, Cora Woodworth, Shirley Paradis, and Sally Cobane; four brothers: John Oliver Klippert, infant brother Rudolph Klippert, Mike Klippert and Clayton Klippert who passed on April 3rd, 2024, only one day after Jo passed.

There will be a memorial service for Josephine on April 27 at Rivertree Vineyard Church, 5857 Highview Dr, Milford, OH 45150. Visitation will be at 10 am, service at 11, and a light lunch afterwards.

A second service will be planned for her mid summer for her family and friends in the Sunnyside, WA area. Her burial will be in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA., next to her husband, Dave.

If you wish to give a memorial gift in her honor, gifts can be given to either of her two church homes.
