It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joy Lynn Rector, who departed this life on June 13, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on October 24, 1960, in Mansfield, Ohio, Joy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joy was the beloved wife of Timothy Rector for 25 cherished years. She was a devoted mother to Sabrina (Andrew) Maas, Heather (Alex) Sharp, and Chad (Meredith) Eblen, and a proud grandmother to Shannon (Dylan) VanLoo, Alexandrea (Braxton) Boroff, Savannah Ridgway, Carson Eblen, and Morgan Eblen. Joy's legacy continues through her great-granddaughters GraceLynn, Hadleigh, and Aspen, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Joy was the loving sister of Robert Beatty and Samantha (Josh) Ludwig, and she joins her late brother Shallus Beatty Jr. in eternal rest. She was the dear daughter of the late Shallus Beatty and the late Judith Foley, and she leaves behind a large family of step-siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
With her feisty spirit and warm sense of humor, Joy brought light to every gathering. She had a passion for country music, especially the tunes of Alan Jackson, and delighted in her cherished Pepsi. Joy had a special bond with her dogs, enjoyed her moments of relaxation, and held her family at the center of her life. A true spitfire, she was known for her straightforwardness, her remarkable storytelling, and her kind heart.
As friends and family, we will gather to celebrate Joy's life and the joy she brought into our lives. A memorial service will be held at Evans Funeral Home in Goshen on June 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with visitation preceding the service at 1:00 PM.
In our mourning, let us also remember the laughter and love she shared with us all. Joy's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her dearly. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, humor, and the joy of family will live on in our memories.
