With heavy hearts we share that Juanita Hock, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on March 17, 2026. Her family was blessed that she could share her love for all those years.
She is survived by her children Tom (Libby) Mitchell, Warren Hock, Julie (Garry) Shields, Shari (David) Green, Brian (Kristin) Hock, Lori (Terry) Collett and Glen (Teresa) Hock; her 16 wonderful grandchildren, Quinn, Sarah, Christopher, Ryan, Kenny, Jenny, Mike, Ashley, Braden, Brianne, Zoe, Zachary, Zavier, Zelie, Austin and Madison; her 10 cherished great grandchildren Elena, Isabella, Mia, Cali, Parker, Emma, Ava, Cooper, Carter and Vincenzo; her sisters Marlene Smith, Dolores Jerdon and brother Jerome Polder. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Gertrude Polder; her brothers Hubert Polder, Alfred Polder, Arthur Polder, Ronald Polder and sister Ruth Richardson; her daughter Kristi Kirby and her devoted husband Howard.
Jaunita and Howard were united in marriage On September 15, 1962. They made a perfect couple where she provided a calming presence, loving care and understanding, while he provided unwavering support, energy to the family and a Catholic faith-filled home. Taking after her Mom she was a wonderful cook and baker. Her Christmas cookies were the best (just ask any of the kids) and she always made extras to share with other families, teachers and friends.
Going to support her children in athletic endeavors was a favorite thing to do. Always with a seat in the shade at Baseball and Soccer games or up in the stands at Track and Cross Country meets to cheer her sons, daughters and grandkids on. Her passion for sports started young when listening to Waite Hoyt broadcast the Cincinnati Reds games. And when the Big Red Machine was formed it cemented her love of the team as she became a life-long fan.
She really enjoyed watching grandkids and kids in her home up until she couldn't physically do it anymore. There was genuine love and care that each child recognized. She never raised her voice but had a caring touch they understood and would later appreciate as they grew up.
A visitation will be held in her honor at Evans Funeral Home, Milford (741 Center Street), on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. With a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Juanita will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Her legacy of love, compassion and understanding will continue on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Juanita looks forward to being united with her husband Howard in heaven. As we gather to remember her, we celebrate a long life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a passion for family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Shriners Burn Institute.
