Judith Halloran

January 27, 1946 — January 22, 2026

Judith Ann Wiggs Halloran, age 79, born January 27, 1946, in Oakland, California, passed away on January 22, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati due to complications from late-onset Alzheimer's disease.

Judi grew up in California, living in Oakland, Fremont, Santa Barbara, and Montecito. For a short time, she lived in Norwood with a family friend, where she met and fell in love with her late husband, John Frank Halloran.

Judi was the beloved daughter of the late Lois Virginia (Street) Wiggs, a cellist with the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and James Alvin Wiggs, a professional baseball player affectionately known as "Big Jim." She was preceded in death by her brothers, James A. Wiggs and George E. Wiggs.

Judi left high school to marry her high school sweetheart, John, known lovingly as "Butch," and later earned her GED while attending night classes. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to five children. Her heart extended far beyond her own family-she fostered dozens of children over the years, loving each of them as her own.

Music was one of Judi's greatest joys. She loved the Supremes, ABBA, Elvis Presley, and the "big hair bands" of the 1980s. An incredible dancer, she danced for as long as she was able-even from her wheelchair. She was an avid reader, loved writing poems about the people she cared for, and enjoyed word-find puzzles. Judi also loved playing games and cards-especially Old Maid and Aggravation-and, as her family will attest, she almost always won.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved singing to them, getting down on the floor to play, and sharing her warmth and laughter.

Judi was generosity itself-kind, compassionate, and endlessly thoughtful. She treated everyone she met with respect and grace. Her bubbly personality and bright smile were gifts she freely shared, and her motto was always to "kill them with kindness." She never spoke unkindly of others and was quick to offer compliments, say "I love you," and express gratitude.

Known for her beautiful blue eyes and long, dark hair-her "crowning glory," as her father always said-Judi took pride in her appearance. She loved sparkly clothing, her painted nails, pretty jewelry, and her signature fuchsia lipstick. She never left the house without looking her best.

Judi lived to help others, and her intelligence, nurturing spirit, compassion, and selflessness will be remembered always.

Judith is survived by her children: Mary Halloran; Bernadette (Christopher) Watzek; Judith (Danny) Robbins; and James (Cathy) Halloran. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Angelina "Sue" Hill (Jerry), and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 25 years, John Frank Halloran; and her son, John Daniel Halloran.

Some of Judi's guiding principles were, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all," and "Treat others as you want to be treated." She lived by these words every day of her life.
