Katharina Lancaster, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, quietly departed this world on January 26, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on November 4, 1926, in Romania, Katharina's life journey was one marked by resilience, love, and unwavering spirit.

During the tumultuous times of World War II, Katharina bravely fled her homeland with her family, seeking refuge in Austria before ultimately migrating to the United States in 1955. She built a new life in Ohio, where she became a cherished member of her community. Katharina dedicated many years of her life to her work at Mercy Clermont Hospital, where she joyfully served until her retirement.

Katharina had a passion for creating beauty in the small things of life. She was an avid knitter and crocheter, often seen with yarn in hand, crafting warm gifts for her loved ones. Her fondness for the outdoors led her to spend countless hours tending to her yard, and she found joy in mowing the grass. Katharina's culinary talents shone brightly in her kitchen, where she prepared delicious German meals and baked sweet treats that brought her family together.

Above all, Katharina cherished the moments spent with her family. She took great pride in her role as a mother to her daughter, Kathy (late Herb) Taylor, and as a loving sister to her brother, Alex (Helen) Piatka and her late sisters Anna and Helen. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Kevin, Chris, and Dorrie Taylor, who will forever carry her warmth and wisdom in their hearts.

Friends and family may gather to celebrate Katharina's remarkable life during visitation at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on January 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00 PM, honoring a woman whose love and spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Katharina will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, Ohio, where her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Katharina's memory to local charities, reflecting her generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
