Kathryn Howard Eikenberry

Born March 9, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio; passed away June 4, 2025.

High School: Indian Hill HS, Class of 1968Graduated: Wilmington College, 1972, with a BA in Theatre Arts

Kathryn raised her daughter Elizabeth (Liz) with her husband, Roger.

She had acted in community theatre productions since college. She also worked behind the scenes in community television productions in the 1980s.

She worked for many years in marketing and telephone surveys for Bases and Nielson, and was known to have a wonderful telephone speaking voice.

Until macular degeneration took much of her eyesight, she loved doing cross-stitch and reading murder mystery books. She was also very fond of the Harry Potter series.

In 2013, Kathryn dressed as Professor McGonagall at Liz's Halloween-themed wedding.

Her hearing had gotten very bad. She used advanced rechargeable Bluetooth hearing aids, which were helpful when connected to her iPhone and iPad. She enjoyed listening to musicals.

She had previously been able to read lips during conversations to help with her hearing. Since her eyesight had faded, people needed to speak more slowly for her to keep up.

Kathryn underwent bariatric surgery in 2004, and her amazing weight loss journey was featured in several local news segments in 2004-2005.

In 2005, she visited the Hall of Mirrors to celebrate her journey after bariatric surgery.

She had a deep love for animals and cared for several cats throughout her life. Her final feline companion was named Black Jack.

As we remember Kathryn Eikenberry, we celebrate a life marked by passion, creativity, and unconditional love. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial visitation to honor Kathryn's life will be held at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
